Indian Chicken Dum Biryani is a flavorful and aromatic dish made with long-grain rice, chicken, and a blend of spices. Here’s a recipe for making it:

Ingredients:

2 cups basmati rice
1 lb boneless chicken, cut into small pieces
1 onion, finely chopped
1 tomato, finely chopped
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 inch ginger, minced
2 green chilies, finely chopped
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp garam masala powder
1/4 cup yogurt
2 cups chicken broth
1/4 cup ghee or oil
2 tbsp chopped cilantro
1 tbsp chopped mint
Salt to taste
Instructions:

Rinse the rice in cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for 30 minutes.

In a pan, heat ghee or oil and sauté the onions until they are golden brown.

Add the ginger, garlic, and green chilies and sauté for a minute.

Add the chicken and sauté until it is cooked through.

Add the tomatoes and sauté until they are soft and mushy.

Add the cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and garam masala powder. Mix well.

Add the yogurt and mix well.

Add the chicken broth and bring the mixture to a boil.

Add the drained rice to the boiling mixture and stir well.

Reduce the heat to low and cover the pan with a tight-fitting lid.

Cook for 18-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.

Remove the pan from the heat and let it rest for 10 minutes.

Fluff the rice with a fork and mix in the chopped cilantro and mint.

Serve hot and enjoy your delicious Indian Chicken Dum Biryani!

You can also add saffron strands to the rice while cooking to give it a richer flavor.
And also you can add some cashews and raisins on top of the cooked rice to make it more rich.
