These days, more and more people are maintaining the trend of using metal tiles as accent tiles. They are unique, attractive and easy to install. In fact, anyone with DIY skills can install them. Aside from their focus, metal accent tiles are also very easy to maintain. Like everything else in the house, you will eventually need to clean the metal tiles to make them look new.

You can use different types of metal accent tiles care and maintenance, depending on what kind of metal tiles you have and the effect you want. For example, copper can be stained when exposed to moisture and air unless you seal it. However, there are some people who prefer this type of aging. Others want their metal back pin tiles to be as shiny as they were on the day of installation. For iron metal accent tiles, they will rust if you do not take care of them regularly. If you want to keep antiques, you need to seal and clean them.

Sealing metal tiles

There are only two types of metal tiles that need to be sealed: copper tiles and iron tiles. Sealing metal-accented tiles for backsplash will help protect the metal finish and prevent oxidation, which will ultimately work with moisture in the air. As mentioned, iron will rust, and in the case of copper, it will darken and acquire a patina.

You can prevent this from happening by applying a sealant based on reliable solvents. You can spray or brush on the metal tiles and this will prevent the metal accents from passing through the tiles in the back. However, make sure you cover the entire surface of the tile as even a small area where oxygen is left will oxidize.

Cleaning metal tiles

You can clean tile sealing  using dishwashing detergent and warm water. Wash them with a microfiber cloth, making sure you rinse them well so that there is no smoke.

Do not use water and soap on metal accent tiles for backslash made of stainless steel. Instead, use a cleaner suitable for stainless steel. Apply it using a dry, lint-free cloth and make sure you do it carefully as stainless steel tile is easily scratched.

For copper, you have a choice, unless you seal the surface. You can allow metal tiles to age and clean them on a regular basis using soap and water. You can also use a copper cleaner if you want your metal accent tiles to shine. However, a clean coat of patina copper tiles is protected, so it will not be of any use if you use a clean copper on them. Instead, stick to water and soap to keep them clean.

You need to take special care of titanium tiles, even if they are only titanium colored. Never use soap and water on them. Instead, prepare a solution with equal parts of water and vinegar, and then apply it to the tiles with a clean, dry cloth to keep it shiny and clean.

Remove stains

Tile sealing removes stain from tiles. In the examples, the tiles look ugly, but these stains are very easy to remove. Make a paste using water and baking soda, or water and borax. Apply it to the entire surface with a cloth, rinse it off with warm water, and then wipe with a dry cloth.

Don’t rub too hard so you don’t scratch your own metal accent tiles for back metal.
