Indian Cricket Team is all set to witness a major change in the camp in a few days. If the ongoing reports are to be believed, skipper Virat Kohli will soon leave the captaincy in white-ball formats (ODI and T20I) and confine himself as a captain of the Test squad.
According to a report published by The Times of India, Virat Kohli decided to step down as ODI and T20I captain after T20 World Cup.
Apparently, he had prolonged discussions with Rohit, team management, and the BCCI regarding this matter.
As per TOI, sources from BCCI stated, “Virat himself will make the announcement. He is of the view that he needs to concentrate on his batting and go back to becoming what he’s always been – the best batsman in the world.”
Fans feel that Virat has taken the right decision as his batting has been affected for the last couple of years. They are hoping that he will get back to his original form once the captaincy responsibility gets off his shoulders.
Virat captained 95 ODIs and 45 T20I matches and won 65 and 29 of them respectively. Meanwhile, Rohit also proved himself as a capable captain and has four IPL titles under his belt.
